What is it'

My.Army.Mil is the U.S. Army's user-customized Web site. This is the first of its kind across all military branches in the Department of Defense. The U.S. Army launched this Web site on December 4, 2009, in an effort to create a more personalized browsing experience and to connect the Army community.

What has the Army done'

The Army has developed a personalized and customizable extension of <a href="http://www.Army.mil" target="_blank">Army.Mil, the official page of the U.S.Army</a>, called <a href=" http://my.army.mil/welcome/" target="_blank">My.Army.Mil</a>. This Web site, utilizing cutting-edge technology, will offer visitors the ability to login and customize their Army homepage through AKO and Google FriendConnect, and create a personalized destination for official Army information, ranging from traditional news stories to up-to-the-minute social media updates. The user has been provided the flexibility to place their favorite widgets on the homepage for ease of access to news of interest.

Throughout the next year, the Army will develop and launch new customizable widgets to enhance user experience.

Why is this important to the Army'

My.Army.Mil is connecting the Army on the Web in ways it never has before. In today's global society, it is important for Soldiers, spouses, family members and civilians to have the ability to quickly access information that is important to them. My.Army.Mil allows users to pull in information from commands, corps, divisions, installations and traditional news sections. Additionally, users can pull in external web content with RSS widgets.
