WASHINGTON --Joint Interagency Task Force 401 has awarded the latest in a series of contracts supporting Domestic Shield, a Department of War effort to improve counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS) protection for risk-prioritized DoW facilities and assets within the United States.
In close synchronization with the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology, JIATF 401 operationalizes whole-of-government acquisition solutions, including a streamlined C-UAS Marketplace designed to rapidly identify, evaluate, and transition industry-leading commercial capabilities.
"This multi-vendor marketplace enforces strict open architecture standards, breaking proprietary vendor lock and ensuring new technologies can immediately integrate into our existing defense networks," said Brent G. Ingraham, Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology. "By driving continuous competition among both prime vendors and non-traditional commercial innovators, we are securing the best value for the American taxpayer and ensuring our warfighters remain ahead of our adversaries."
The awards enable JIATF 401 to advance Domestic Shield’s ability to cover the entire process of detecting and defeating drones. The technology spans from smart optical scopes that help individual Soldiers shoot down drones with standard rifles, to automated robotic weapon stations, compact radar systems, and long-range tracking cameras.
"JIATF-401 is continuously working with the military services to provide the counter-UAS capabilities needed to protect warfighters and installations," said U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Matt Ross, director of JIATF-401. "Our approach allows us to identify the right capabilities for specific operational requirements and rapidly deliver those capabilities to the warfighter."
Based on current requirements, JIATF-401 established multiple-award indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contracts to support Domestic Shield, the JIATF-401 C-UAS Marketplace, and other critical counter-drone requirements.
The latest awards supporting these efforts include:
- Allen Control Systems, Inc. (ACS): $500 million base IDIQ award
- Digital Force Technologies, LLC (DFT): $500 million base IDIQ award
- DroneShield, LLC: $500 million base IDIQ award
- Echodyne Corp.: $250 million base IDIQ award
- Napatree Technology LLC: $500 million base IDIQ award
- PVP Advanced EO Systems, Inc.: $250 million base IDIQ award
- RADA Technologies, LLC.: $500 million base IDIQ award
- SmartShooter Inc.: $150 million base IDIQ award
- SRC Inc.: $500 million base IDIQ award
- L3Harris WESCAM: $500 million base IDIQ award
These awards build on JIATF-401’s broader efforts to expand enterprise-wide access to counter-UAS capabilities through streamlined acquisition pathways that support validated operational requirements. By expanding access to technologies informed by applicable test data and lifecycle considerations, JIATF-401 is helping equip warfighters with layered counter-UAS capabilities against evolving unmanned aircraft threats at home and abroad.
