ANSBACH, Germany — Katterbach Main Gate will be closed beginning Oct. 22, 2026, as part of the next phase in replacing final denial barriers at USAG Ansbach gates.
These barrier projects are directed by the U.S. Army and managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Katterbach Main Gate Closed Oct. 22-Nov. 30
Katterbach Main Gate will be closed from Oct. 22 – Nov. 30, 2026.
Until further notice, motorists must enter Katterbach Kaserne through Katterbach South Gate (High School Gate). During this time, Katterbach Main Gate and Bismarck Exit Gate remain closed.
Motorists must enter Bismarck Kaserne through Bismarck Back Gate and exit through Bismarck Motorpool Gate.
DOD ID-cardholders can check guests in at the Katterbach South Gate.
Pedestrians and bicyclists can enter and exit Katterbach at the B14 crossover and enter and exit Bismarck at the Bismarck Motorpool Gate.
Motorists are prohibited from using the farm road connecting the B14 southbound toward Untereichenbach and the Katterbach South Gate. This is a one-way road.
Instead, approach Katterbach South Gate from Ansbach, through Eyb and Untereichenbach.
The USAG Ansbach app will guide you to the Katterbach South Gate. Open the app and ensure you've selected USAG Ansbach as your community. Click Explore, Gates and scroll down and select Katterbach Kaserne South Gate. Then click Navigate Here and select your preferred map service.
Bismarck Exit Gate Closed
Katterbach Exit Gate (B14 crossover) remains open and vehicles can use it to exit Katterbach Kaserne.
Bismarck Exit Gate (B14 crossover), however, remains closed until further notice. It had been scheduled to open Oct. 28 but has been delayed to facilitate the construction contractor.
Enter and exit Katterbach Kaserne through Katterbach South Gate.
Enter Bismarck Kaserne through Bismarck Back Gate. Exit through Bismarck Motorpool Gate.
Do not attempt to enter Bismarck Exit Gate or Katterbach Exit Gate from the B14.
