Tickets go on sale for Czesław Cybulski Memorial in Poznań

Athletics stars are returning to Golęcin. This year’s Czesław Cybulski Memorial will take place on June 28, and ticket sales for one of the most important athletics meetings in Poland are now underway. Prices remain unchanged compared to last year, making the event once again accessible to a wide audience of sports fans.

For years, the Czesław Cybulski Memorial has attracted Olympic medalists, world champions, and Europe’s leading athletes to Poznań. The meeting, held at the Golęcin Athletics Stadium, has built a strong reputation on the international calendar and has become one of the flagship sporting events of the summer season in the city. In recent editions, spectators had the opportunity to watch athletes such as Anita Włodarczyk, Paweł Fajdek, Wojciech Nowicki, Piotr Lisek, Ewa Swoboda, and many international stars competing in front of packed stands.

Anita Włodarczyk and Wojciech Nowicki have already confirmed their participation in this year’s edition, with the hammer throw expected to once again be one of the highlights of the evening. Pole vault fans will also be able to watch Piotr Lisek in action. The program additionally includes the 200m, 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles, 800m, 1500m, 2000m steeplechase, as well as the women’s long jump and high jump competitions. Organizers emphasize that more names of world-class athletes will be announced in the coming weeks.

Last year’s meeting delivered several memorable performances and attracted thousands of spectators to Golęcin. The event was praised both for its sporting level and its atmosphere. Previous editions have repeatedly produced results among the best in Europe during the summer season, confirming the growing importance of the Poznań competition within the World Athletics Continental Tour.

“Fans of the Queen of Sport in Poznań have been waiting for this event all year long. I'm delighted that the great names of national and international athletics will once again visit Poznań. The facility in Golęcin is excellently prepared, and we can certainly expect great emotions,” says Marcin Gołek, Deputy Mayor of Poznań.

The history of the memorial dates back several decades and commemorates Czesław Cybulski – an outstanding athletics coach and one of the key figures in the development of Polish track and field. Over the years, the event has evolved from a national meeting into an internationally recognized competition, regularly featuring Olympic and World Championship medalists. Since joining the World Athletics Continental Tour, the memorial has gained even greater prestige and visibility abroad.

The organizers encourage fans to follow the official channels of the event, where updates regarding the competition schedule, participating athletes, and accompanying attractions will be published regularly. In previous years, the memorial has also included autograph sessions, fan zones, and activities for families and children, helping to create a festival atmosphere around the athletics competition.

Tickets are now on sale

Good news for athletics fans – ticket prices for the Czesław Cybulski Memorial are the same as last year. In sector A (from the tennis courts side), prices are PLN 25 for a standard ticket and PLN 15 for a concession ticket. In sector B (from the Rusałka side), tickets cost PLN 45 standard and PLN 25 concession. Holders of the Large Family Card with the territorial code of the City of Poznań and members of the OK Poznań program can receive additional discounts. People with disabilities are entitled to free admission to the event. Tickets are available exclusively online via the ToBilet.pl platform.

Interest in the event has been steadily growing in recent years, with many sectors selling out well before competition day. Organizers therefore encourage supporters to purchase tickets in advance. The combination of elite athletics, an intimate stadium atmosphere, and close proximity to the athletes have made the Golęcin meeting especially popular among fans.

The Czesław Cybulski Memorial is part of the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver. The event is sponsored by Orlen. Partners include the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, European Athletics, the Polish Athletics Association, Browar Fortuna, and TVP Sport.

New tour explores legends of Poznań

On May 31, residents and visitors alike will have the opportunity to embark on a unique journey through the legends, mysteries, and centuries-old stories of Poznań. The Municipal Publishing House Posnania is inviting participants to a free guided walk through the Old Town and Ostrów Tumski, where tales of ghosts, devils, curses, and unexplained events have been passed down for generations.

The walk will take place on Sunday, May 31, starting at 12:00 p.m. Participants will gather on Przemysł Hill, near the entrance to the Museum of Applied Arts. The tour is expected to last approximately two hours and will lead visitors through some of the oldest and most historically significant parts of the city.

The route has been inspired by the publication “Devils, Ghosts, Curses. Legends and Tales of Poznań” by Piotr Kraszewski, released by the Municipal Publishing House Posnania. During the walk, participants will discover places connected with some of Poznań’s best-known legends and forgotten urban tales. Stops along the route will include landmarks such as the Town Hall, the pillory, the Proserpina Fountain, and the historic “Pod Daszkiem” townhouse.

Organizers promise stories filled with mystery and atmosphere, introducing participants to the darker and more unusual side of the city’s history. Visitors will hear tales about restless spirits wandering through medieval streets, encounters with the devil, mysterious disappearances, and characters who became part of local folklore over the centuries. Many of these stories have survived through oral tradition and continue to shape the identity of Poznań today.

The walk will also provide an opportunity to explore Ostrów Tumski, the oldest part of Poznań and one of the most important historical sites in Poland. Known as the cradle of the Polish state, the island has long inspired legends connected with rulers, bishops, and supernatural events. The contrast between historical facts and mythical storytelling is expected to be one of the highlights of the tour.

In previous years, similar thematic walks organized by the Municipal Publishing House Posnania attracted considerable interest from both locals and tourists. Participants appreciated not only the historical knowledge shared during the events but also the engaging storytelling and the chance to experience familiar city spaces from an entirely different perspective.

The guide for the walk will be Karolina Dąbrowska-Wiśniewska, who specializes in the history and cultural heritage of Poznań. Participation in the event is free of charge, and no tickets are required. Organizers encourage attendees to arrive a few minutes early and wear comfortable footwear suitable for a longer walk through the city center’s cobbled streets.

Juwenalia festival returns to Poznań

One of the biggest student celebrations of the year is about to begin in Poznań. This year’s Juwenalia festival starts on Thursday and will transform Park Jana Pawła II into a lively center of concerts, student traditions, and late-night celebrations lasting for three days. Thousands of students, residents, and visitors are expected to take part in the event.

Juwenalia are traditional student festivals organized annually by universities across Poland, usually taking place in May or early June. Their origins date back several decades and are connected with the symbolic “student holiday” before the summer exam session. During Juwenalia, students temporarily take over the city in a spirit of celebration, music, and entertainment. The events typically include concerts by well-known artists, themed parties, parades, competitions, stand-up performances, outdoor cinema screenings, and various cultural attractions.

In many Polish cities, Juwenalia begin with the ceremonial handover of the city keys from local authorities to students, symbolizing several days during which academic life gives way to celebration and social events. Over the years, the festivals have evolved into large-scale music events attracting not only students but also music fans from across the region.

This year’s Poznań Juwenalia will last three days, from Thursday to Saturday, with performances taking place on both the main and smaller stages. Organizers are preparing not only concerts but also food zones, chillout spaces, student organization stands, and numerous accompanying attractions that traditionally create a festival atmosphere extending far beyond the music itself.

Due to the large number of participants expected to attend the event, public transport in Poznań will be reinforced from May 28 to May 30. Additional night tram and bus services will help attendees travel safely between the festival grounds and different parts of the city.

On the night from Thursday to Friday, an additional bus line, number 202, will operate. Furthermore, during all Juwenalia nights between 11:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m., two extra tram lines will run every 30 minutes.

Who Will Perform on the Main Stage?

The concert schedule features a mix of rap, pop, alternative, and folk-inspired music, reflecting the diversity traditionally associated with Juwenalia events.

Thursday’s program begins at 7:00 p.m. with SOWA, followed by NATURA 2000 at 8:00 p.m. At 9:15 p.m., KRÓL KOSMA will take over the stage, while the evening’s headliner, JAN RAPOWANIE, is scheduled to perform at 10:30 p.m.

Friday’s concerts start at 7:15 p.m. COLOR BLUE will open the evening, followed by ZALIA at 8:45 p.m. At 10:15 p.m., audiences will see the popular folk-pop group GOLEC UORKIESTRA, and at midnight GRUBSON will close the night with his energetic performance.

Saturday’s lineup begins at 7:00 p.m. with NLT. At 7:45 p.m., a freestyle battle will bring improvisation and rap competition to the stage. HUBERT. will perform at 9:00 p.m., followed by the KAPCZYK brothers at 10:30 p.m. The final concert of this year’s Juwenalia will belong to WHITE 2115, who is expected to appear on stage at 11:45 p.m.

Concerts and performances will also take place on the smaller stage throughout the festival, giving space to emerging artists and local performers.

Juwenalia are ticketed events, though organizers have confirmed that tickets are still available. With favorable weather forecasts and a strong lineup of artists, this year’s edition is expected to attract one of the largest crowds in recent years.

Poznań's Enea Stadium to host 2 major concerts this week

Poznań is preparing for two of the biggest music events of the summer season. Within just two weeks, Enea Stadium at Bułgarska Street will host massive concerts by two of Poland’s most popular artists — Sanah and Dawid Podsiadło. Tens of thousands of fans from across the country are expected to arrive in the city, turning the stadium area into one of the busiest entertainment destinations in Poland.

The first event will take place this Friday, May 29, when Sanah performs in front of a huge audience at Enea Stadium. The concert is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m., but organizers expect fans to start arriving much earlier. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. for Premium and Early Entrance ticket holders, while general admission begins at 6:00 p.m.

Sanah’s stadium concerts have become known not only for their elaborate visual production and emotional atmosphere but also for surprise guest appearances. The singer regularly invites some of Poland’s biggest artists to join her on stage, although the identities of the guests are usually kept secret until the performance itself. This element of surprise has become one of the trademarks of her live shows and often generates enormous excitement among fans online.

The artist has enjoyed extraordinary popularity in recent years, selling out arenas and stadiums throughout Poland. Her concerts combine pop music with poetic lyrics, orchestral arrangements, and carefully designed visual storytelling. Fans can expect a large-scale production including giant screens, lighting effects, and extended stage elements prepared especially for the stadium venue.

Tickets for the Sanah concert are still available. Prices currently start at PLN 219 for standing tickets on the pitch area, though organizers warn that the remaining pool is limited and demand remains high in the final days before the show.

Just two weeks later, on Saturday, June 13, Enea Stadium will once again fill with music fans — this time for Dawid Podsiadło’s highly anticipated performance as part of his “Obrotowy Tour.” In contrast to the Sanah concert, tickets for this event sold out long ago. The concert is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.

Organizers expect a complete sellout crowd numbering in the tens of thousands. Attendance is likely to exceed the crowds seen during Lech Poznań football matches, although the official figures will only be announced after the event. Podsiadło’s popularity has reached record levels in recent years, and his previous concerts in Poznań demonstrated the scale of the phenomenon. In 2024 alone, his two performances at the stadium attracted more than 100,000 spectators combined.

Dawid Podsiadło is widely regarded as one of the most influential and commercially successful Polish artists of the last decade. His concerts are known for combining large-scale visual productions with intimate moments, humor, and carefully crafted stage design. Fans often travel across the country to attend his shows, treating them as major cultural events rather than ordinary concerts.

The upcoming weeks are expected to bring significant traffic congestion around the stadium and nearby districts. City authorities are already encouraging participants to use public transport instead of private cars. Additional tram and bus services may be introduced depending on crowd levels and traffic conditions. Officials emphasize that public transportation remains the fastest and safest way to reach the stadium during large-scale events.

The concerts are also expected to provide a noticeable boost to the local economy. Hotels, restaurants, bars, and transportation services traditionally experience increased demand during major stadium events, particularly when visitors arrive from other regions of Poland. Similar concerts in previous years brought thousands of tourists to Poznań and generated substantial interest in the city’s entertainment and hospitality sectors.

For many fans, the upcoming concerts will be among the musical highlights of the year — and for Poznań, they represent another opportunity to confirm its position as one of Poland’s leading destinations for large live events and stadium productions.
