VICENZA, Italy — U.S. Army Garrison Italy’s 2025 Intramural Softball season wrapped up this week as teams from across the Vicenza Military Community faced off in a tournament at Caserma Del Din.
The tournament started July 22, and the finals were on July 23. The Southern European Task Force G4 bested “Comm Shots” —a mixed team of personnel from the 173rd Brigade Support Battalion and BSB and 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment —in the semi-finals, 10 to 7. Bunt Force Trauma, from the 522nd Military Intelligence Battalion edged out the Battle Bulls – Company B, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, in a nail-biter, 16 to 15.
In the championship game, Bunt Force Trauma claimed the title with a decisive 9 to 4 win over SETAF G4. Bunt Force Trauma now prepares to represent USAG Italy at the IMCOM-Europe Championship, held August 22–24 in Grafenwoehr, Germany.
The tournament highlighted not only the competitiveness of the players but also the vibrant opportunities available through USAG Italy’s Family & MWR Intramural Sports Program. From basketball and flag football to soccer and softball, FMWR continues to offer inclusive, morale-boosting activities for Soldiers, civilians, and families stationed in Italy.
