Gate 7, Martin Road West to Close Early Today, September 29, 2025
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Gate 7 at Martin Road West will close at 6:00 p.m. today, September 29th, instead of the usual closing time of 9:00 p.m. Regular hours are expected to resume tomorrow, Tuesday, September 30.

Water Main Leak Off Post Causes Water Discoloration On Post, September 23, 2:05 p.m.
There have been Arsenal wide reports of brown dingy water which is being attributed to a line break that Huntsville Utilities had on a main line near Slaughter Road in Huntsville yesterday evening. The leak was isolated, and repairs are ongoing. Anyone experiencing dingy water should flush till clear. If water does not clear within 30 minutes, please call DPW Minor Repair 256-876-2801 and other steps will be taken to clear the system.
The One Stop ID Card Section is Experiencing an Outage, September 23, 11:52 a.m.
The One Stop ID Card Section is currently experiencing an unexpected outage and is unable to issue or create Common Access Cards (CACs). There is no estimated time for the restoration of this service at the moment.

Water Main Break Affects Multiple Buildings, September 23, 11:41 a.m.
Due to a water main break at the corner of McAlpine and Sawbriar Roads, there is a water outage affecting all buildings and streets off McAlpine Road. These buildings will be without water for the next several hours. Employees should contact their supervisor for further instructions.

Redstone Arsenal Announces Changes to Gate 3 Operations
Redstone Arsenal, Ala. August 27, 2025 — Redstone Arsenal will implement temporary changes to the operational hours of Gate 3 on Redstone Road in south Huntsville, effective Sept. 2, 2025. The gate will close at 1 p.m. daily to accommodate reductions in resources and manning.
This adjustment will not affect inbound traffic during peak morning hours of 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Col. Erin Eike, Redstone Arsenal Garrison commander, commented on the changes:
Federal workforce reduction efforts reduced our Security Guard Force by 17% which means at our new authorization strength, we can have no more than three guards out sick, injured or on leave or we would have to close lanes or a gate.
We were able to delay this by paying excessive overtime but that has come to an end. Federal government cost reduction decisions made at the highest levels of government removed overtime as an option. We have temporary assistance from select active-duty partners but that is still not sufficient to maintain the current level of service.
We’re facing significant challenges due to workforce reductions and hiring freeze across the federal government and we are adjusting to the new reality established, while making every effort to ensure secure access to the installation for our workforce.”
