June 7 is shaping up to be a huge birthday party.
Redstone Arsenal will hold the 250th Army Birthday Celebration that day from 3-9 p.m. at Redstone Gateway, featuring the U.S. Army Parachute Team, the Golden Knights.
“Everything’s looking good so far,” Ed Nunn, director of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, said. “It should be a good event.”
Besides the Golden Knights there will be a car show, band music, cake cutting, food trucks, and Army hardware displays. The event culminates with fireworks.
“This is going to be a big event,” Gaylene Wilson, MWR recreation division chief, said. “It’s getting a lot of attention. We’re real excited.”
Parking opens at 2 p.m., and the event starts at 3. The car show check-in is from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The scheduled agenda for this free public outing includes:
