Poznań's Barbecue and Bonfire Hotspots
In the capital of Wielkopolska, you can also light a barbecue outside your own backyard in specific, publicly accessible city areas. Within the limits of Poznań, there are also designated places where you can organize a bonfire.
The growing popularity of the Warta River area is certainly due to the fact that you can light a barbecue on the riverbank (for safety reasons, the area outside the bridges is prohibited). However, when organizing a picnic there, remember to leave some order behind - place the remains from the fire in special ember containers, and the remaining waste in appropriate containers.
Barbecuing is also allowed on the grounds managed by the Poznań Sports and Recreation Centres - in specific zones on the municipal bathing areas at the Rusałka and Strzeszynek lakes. A bonfire shelter is also available for residents in Kiekrz.
The Municipal Greenery Board also provides areas where you can organize a bonfire. The designated zones are located: in the camping clearing at Szelągowski Park (ul. Nadbrzeże), at the climbing wall at ul. Hlonda and at Szachty. To light a bonfire in the last of these locations, you need to sign up. Just send an email to kancelaria@zzmpoznan.pl and wait for a response. In the other two places, there are no sign-ups, the "first come, first served" rule applies.
It is also possible to organize a bonfire in the municipal forests, but at designated points. Two are located on Lake Swarzędzkie - by the forester's lodge and in the clearing. Dates can be arranged by calling 512 387 207. Other places are located in the forests: Dębińskie by the catering point and Marcelińskie near the forester's lodge. To light a bonfire in these locations, contact the administrators of the areas by calling 505 142 122 (Dębina), 518 796 513 (Marcelin). There is also a shelter by Lake Strzeszyńskie for fans of sausages from the bonfire. Just arrange a date by calling 512 386 975.
When organizing a barbecue or bonfire, remember to take your trash with you or throw it in the bin. Littering public places can result in a fine of up to PLN 500.
New Restrictions on Photography and Recording to Take Effect Thursday
According to the regulations, the facilities will have to be specially marked.
This concerns objects important for the defense of our country belonging to the Ministry of National Defense, but also critical infrastructure objects or movables. On April 17, the relevant regulation of the Ministry of National Defense in this matter will come into force. In accordance with the regulations, the services will be able to intervene against people photographing or recording such objects.
“The ban on photography covers all methods of recording, photographing and filming both from the ground and from the air (applies to unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as powered hang gliders and parachutes). The regulation applies to bodies, institutions, formations, entrepreneurs or organizational units in whose jurisdiction the objects are located,” reports the portal prawo.pl.
Objects that cannot be filmed or photographed must be marked with a special sign prohibiting photography. In order to film and photograph, it will be necessary to obtain a permit. If we do not have it and we are caught taking pictures at objects covered by the ban, we will face a penalty of arrest, a fine, and even confiscation of the smartphone or camera.
Street Closure in Poznań Forces Detours Until September
The Municipal Traffic Engineer informs that from April 14, due to the construction of a building complex in the area of Ułańska and Grunwaldzka Streets in Poznań, Ułańska Street will be closed on the section from the intersection with Grottgera Street to the intersection with Grunwaldzka Street.
"The works will include the renovation of underground networks, surfaces, exits and sidewalks. Poznań's City Fountains: When Will They Flow?
Even though spring is already outside the windows, the city fountains are not working yet, but it is only a matter of days.
"We will soon be able to enjoy the beautiful view of fountains in the urban space. We are preparing them for the new season. We will turn each of them on successively from April 20 to May 15, " the Municipal Greenery Board informs on social media.
We would also like to remind you that the water in the fountains is not tested and is not subject to sanitary and hygienic control, so you should not bathe in the city's fountains. If you drink water from the casing, you may have problems with your digestive system. On the other hand, changes may appear on your skin caused by contact with water. Such bathing may also end with a fine.
The city fountains, as usual, will operate until autumn.
