Last chance to visit Magic Forest this weekend
It's about the "Magic Forest".
As we have already written many times in our pages, since the end of October, in the Dendrological Garden of the University of Life Sciences in Poznań, you can immerse yourself in the magical world of Alice in Wonderland. During a 1.5-kilometer walk, visitors will discover numerous thematic zones inspired by the story of the fairy-tale Alice. There are over 10 different areas in the park, including the Queen of Hearts Garden and the Cat Garden.
This is the last moment to go there. Special surprises have been prepared for the last weekend.
"Alice in the Wonderland" invites lovers to visit her magical world. The organizers will take us on a journey to the Garden where time flows differently! On the occasion of Valentine's Day weekend, the organizers have prepared a Valentine's Day competition for couples! In the Park, lovers will receive special cards with questions. All you have to do is return the completed forms to the park staff and the most interesting answers will be rewarded! All this and much more in an amazing setting of light, sound, narration and gamification!" - announce the representatives of Lumina Park.
From February 10-16, 2025, Lumina Park Poznań has a special promotion - children up to 12 years of age can enter for free. The child's age will be verified on the basis of an identity document.

Wielkie Racowisko (Great Flare) announced in Poznań
The organizer of the "Wielkie Racowisko" is the Greater Poland Uprising March Association. This is a patriotic event commemorating the 106th anniversary of the victory of the Greater Poland Uprising.
"Wielkie Racowisko" is not only a spectacular moment of firing flares, but above all an opportunity to sing patriotic songs together, recall the history of the uprising and manifest pride in the heroic deeds of our ancestors," inform the organizers.
Participants of the event are asked to bring Polish and insurgent flags and patriotic songbooks. It was noted that the event is open to all who want to pay tribute to the insurgents and commemorate Polish history "in the spirit of patriotism and community."
"These are yet another celebrations organized by the Greater Poland Uprising March Association, which in recent years has been gaining increasing recognition among the residents of Poznań and the entire Greater Poland. Among other things, every year on December 27, thousands of participants gather to take part in the Greater Poland Uprising March organized by the association," the organizers add.
The assembly will be held on February 16, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at the Greater Poland Insurgents Monument.
Ministers' meeting held in Poznan
As announced, a meeting of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz with Norwegian Minister of Defense Tore Sandvik took place at the 31st Tactical Air Base in Poznań-Krzesiny.
"Here, in Poznań, we are together with the Minister to thank both Norwegian and Polish soldiers for their service, dedication and contribution to the security of NATO, the eastern flank of the Alliance and all of us... Today's conversation was very good. Norway is our extremely important, strategic partner in the field of security. The best proof of this is the presence of Norwegian soldiers who protect the Polish sky. On behalf of all citizens of the Republic of Poland, we sincerely thank you for this," emphasized Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz after the meeting with the Norwegian Minister of Defense.
"We have adopted an action plan for this year. One of the most important elements will be to agree, and I hope that soon also to sign, a new agreement. It will be the basis for discussions on the future of security and cooperation between our countries, especially in the area of exchange of experiences. Norway already has a strong fleet of F-35 aircraft. Soon our own F-35s will be stationed in Poland, which is why exchange of experiences and joint training in this area are extremely important to us. We need this agreement to respond even more effectively to threats that both we and the Norwegians understand perfectly well. As border states, aware of Russia's neo-imperial tendencies, we are able to respond effectively and cooperate in security matters," added Kosiniak-Kamysz.
The talks also concerned the development of the arms industry. " I would like to visit Oslo soon to present the offer of the Polish arms industry - both state and private, because both play a key role," announced the Deputy Prime Minister.
The visit was related to the presence of the Norwegian Air Force contingent, which has been stationed at the base in Poznań-Krzesiny as part of the NATO IAMD (Integrated Air & Missile Defense) mission since 8 January 2025. Norwegian F-35 fighters, belonging to the fifth generation, support the strengthening of the protection of NATO's eastern flank and the development of interoperability with Polish F-16 pilots.

The success of Poznań in social media is reported by the president Jacek Jaśkowiak. In addition to Poznań, the list also includes Bremen, Sarajevo and Milan!" - he reports.
" The renovated center of Poznań and the Old Market Square attracted crowds of tourists last year. If someone has not yet had the opportunity to see the new face of Poznań, it is high time to catch up! There will be no shortage of opportunities to visit in 2025 - Impact CEE, Pyrkon, Bittersweet Music Festival, Malta Festival and many other interesting events ahead of us" - lists the president. Skyscanner analyzed the preferences of tourists when choosing holiday destinations, taking into account primarily prices. As a result, a list of budget destinations for 2025 was created, which also included Poznań.
XXXI National Youth Summer Sports Olympics come to Poznań
The organization of the XXXI National Youth Summer Sports Olympics Wielkopolska 2025 has been announced in Poznań. The event will take place from June 23 to August 24, 2025.
"As the Wielkopolska Province Government, we will be the co-organizer of this event, and our partners will be the Ministry of Sport and Tourism and those who will provide us with their facilities within the province and beyond. Several thousand young athletes will compete for medals. The most talented and hard-working will have the opportunity to compete in competitions held in accordance with the Olympic ceremony. This will be good preparation for their future sports careers. For us, as the Province Government, this is a very prestigious event, which is why we are investing a lot of money in it, both in terms of infrastructure and support for the direct organizer - the Wielkopolska Sports Association. We are counting not only on athletes, but also on fans, who, I hope, will appear in various places in Wielkopolska where the competitions will be held," says Marek Woźniak, Marshal of the Wielkopolska Province.
The official opening ceremony of the National Youth Summer Sports Olympics Wielkopolska 2025, which will take place on Friday, July 4, 2025, at Malta Lake in Poznań.
"The events will be held in several locations in our province, with most events taking place in Poznań. Traditionally, we cannot organize all events in our province. Young athletes from Wielkopolska are already preparing, they want to win as many medals as possible," emphasizes Jacek Bogusławski, Member of the Wielkopolska Province Board. "The Olympics could not take place without our main partner, the Wielkopolska Sports Association. This is a guarantee that the competition will be organized at the appropriate level," he adds
The organizers are: the Wielkopolska Province Self-Government and the Wielkopolska Sports Association. The main partner of the event is the Ministry of Sport and Tourism. Local governments are also involved.
As reported, athletes will compete in 23 locations. 18 of them are towns in Wielkopolska: Poznań, Kalisz, Leszno, Gniezno, Rawicz, Pniewy, Września, Wągrowiec, Jarocin, Środa Wielkopolska, Pobiedziska, Zbąszyń, Nowy Tomyśl, Baborówko, Godziesze Wielkie, Rumianek, Nędzerzew, Bukowiec. Outside our region, the competition will move to Kraków, Bytom, Puck, Drzonków and Nowa Sól.
"Over 4,300 competitors will compete in 31 disciplines, including 30 Olympic disciplines. These are: golf, field hockey, classic kayaking, slalom kayaking, road cycling, track cycling, MTB cycling, BMX cycling, 3x3 basketball, athletics, archery, modern pentathlon, football, beach volleyball, beach handball, water polo, swimming, artistic swimming, weightlifting, rugby, diving, show jumping, sports shooting, tennis, triathlon, dressage, rowing, evening, sports climbing and sailing," announces Anna Parzyńska-Paschke, the Marshal's spokeswoman.
