The Army Chaplain Corps has just released a new report titled, Celebrating 250 Years of Sacred Service: The U.S. Army Chaplain Corps from 1775 to 2025. The document tells the story of the Chaplain Corps’ proud legacy of sacred service since its inception in 1775.
The U.S. Army Chaplain Corps enables the constitutionally mandated free exercise of religion by America’s Soldiers, and facilitates and builds their spiritual readiness to fight and win our nation’s wars. The Corps does these things by delivering direct spiritual and religious Soldier and family care, and by providing moral leadership across the Army’s formations, at every echelon, everywhere and anywhere America’s Soldiers are required to perform their duties.
As the highly diverse Soldiers of today’s U.S. Army train and deploy, they face a perpetually evolving strategic environment with increasingly complex challenges. The Army Chaplain Corps is a key and unique part of sustaining the overall readiness of America’s Soldiers to manage and overcome those challenges, while they perform their duties.
