QUANTICO, Va. – The Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division has publicly released its first Army CID Year in Review product since the initiation of transformation efforts in 2021. The document includes summaries of investigations, initiatives, and key achievements that are representative of Army CID's work to reduce harmful behaviors, protect Army personnel and their families, and maintain the warfighting readiness of the Army.
"We are now in year three of the CID transformation," Army CID Director Gregory D. Ford wrote in the report's introductory message, "and it is important to acknowledge the progress achieved, to date, as we strive to provide superior Military Criminal Investigative Organizational support to the Department of the Army. The organizational structure of the agency has been completely redesigned to better align with our federal law enforcement counterparts, which has enabled the development of stronger partnerships and better investigative outcomes. CID’s operational leadership structure now includes experienced criminal investigators at every level."
Army CID is the Army’s federal law enforcement agency, with over 3,000 personnel in 124 locations worldwide protecting Soldiers, families, civilians, and warfighting assets from crimes that affect readiness. Army CID investigates felony criminal allegations while also providing executive protection for the Secretary of Defense, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Secretary of the Army, and other high-risk personnel.
