KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany - Command Sgt. Maj. Shahpour Eskandary, the senior enlisted advisor for the 7th Mission Support Command, hosts a Senior Enlisted Forum on Sembach and Daenner Kaserne, Germany, Sept. 5-6, 2024.

The 7th Mission Support Command (MSC) hosted the two-day forum, facilitating dialogue between the Command Sgt. Maj., and the 7th MSC’s downtrace unit’s senior enlisted advisors. Attendees received briefs on personnel readiness, personnel security, equipment and medical readiness, as well as safety and retention.

“The Command’s staff provides current and evolving changes to processes and regulations driving readiness,” said Eskandary. “In turn, the staff and senior enlisted leaders are building relationships and meeting points of contact to address unique challenges in partnership, synchronizing efforts, and bridging gaps.”

Representatives from all 26 units in the 7th MSC were in attendance including Command Sgt. Maj. Dmitriy Yurganov, the senior enlisted advisor for the 97th Chemical Battalion, 163rd Regional Support Group.

“Being a participant, I gained a lot of understanding of the command sergeant major’s requirements and the commanding general’s priorities,” said Yurganov. “Also having the staff speak and give their perspective of where the 7th MSC sits and where my battalion fits into the grand picture of readiness, deployment priorities, physical security, and how we tie into the U.S. Army Europe-Africa's priorities.”

The end state of the forum is to establish a posture to execute synchronized and resourced training plans through training year 2025, and for units to enhance readiness practices, build camaraderie, and develop strong relations within the 7th MSC enterprise through organization events and activities.

Building on the momentum gained during the forum, the command established a senior enlisted leader digital forum, complete with access to tools and information, the ability to hold chats and collaborate, or bring up concerns throughout the year, addressing issues routinely while also maintaining this event in an effort to keep the command's enlisted leaders connected.

“The intent is to host the forum quarterly or semi-annually and evolve to include 1SGs and MSGs as a mentoring opportunity and build our bench,” said Eskandary.
