On May 27, the installation’s 121 cemeteries will be open to the public for family and friends of those buried there to visit and pay respects from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine. Anyone needing to locate checkpoints may visit the Fort Knox Visitor Center at the Chaffee (main) Gate to obtain an event-specific map or get for further assistance. Additionally, Fort Knox Range Operations staff will be posted at checkpoints located around the installation perimeter to help those seeking directions to specific gravesites. All visitors ages 18 and older will need to provide a valid driver’s license and cell phone number when entering any checkpoint.
