The Honolulu-Pacific Federal Executive Board hosted the 68th Annual Excellence in Federal Government Awards ceremony at the Tradewinds facility on Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Hawaii on May 10.
The Honolulu-Pacific Federal Executive Board represents almost 130 federal departments and agencies in the Pacific employing more than 90,000 civilians, military personnel, postal workers, and contractors. The Annual Excellence in Federal Government Awards recognize teams and individuals for their valuable contributions and exceptional service in the Federal workplace each year in multiple categories.
This year, the Headquarters Staff of U.S. Army Installation Management Command-Pacific at Fort Shafter, Hawaii was recognized for Team Excellence by providing exceptional service to Army installations and garrisons in Hawaii, Alaska, Kwajalein, Japan and Korea. The staff provides countless hours in support of critical and unique challenges and programs for installation management supporting Army Soldier, Families and Civilians across the Pacific.
Additionally, several individuals at U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii were recognized for their exceptional support to the Army community in Hawaii. Overall, there were 127 awards in 7 categories, and a Pinnacle Award for the best in each category presented during the ceremony. For the IMCOM-Pacific region, one team and five individuals received excellence awards with Miles Watanabe from U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii also winning the Pinnacle Award for the Federal Employee of the Year – Trades and Crafts category.
