FORT NOVOSEL, Ala. --Fort Novosel came out in force on Saturday, Nov. 18 as the Troy University Trojans bested the University of Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns, 35-21, during their annual military appreciation day.

The game at Veterans Memorial Stadium, or the Vet, began with a flyover of an AH-64, 2 UH-60s and a CH-47 from Fort Novosel’s 110th Aviation Brigade.

Troy University donated more than 1,500 tickets to service members and their families from Hurlbert Field, Fort Moore, Naval Air Station Pensacola, Fort Novosel, Tyndall Air Force Base and Maxwell Air Force Base.

The halftime show included a Walk of Heroes as military members from every branch, past and present, marched across the field as each service song played. Fort Novosel was well represented with Soldiers from 1-13th Aviation Regiment, the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence command representatives, and candidates from the Warrant Officer Career College.

Fort Novosel is located just 41 miles southeast of Troy University and the two have a long-standing partnership with community engagement efforts on Fort Novosel and heartfelt military appreciation from Troy.
