Half-Road Closure at Sendai Street, Tomodachi Avenue

A half-road closure at Sendai Street and Tomodachi Avenue on Camp Zama will be in effect Sept. 25 through 29 during the replacement of an underground cable there.

In preparation, workers will set up temporary barricades for the temporary laydown area and work space near Bldg. 642 beginning Sept. 13. As a result, some parking spaces in the barricaded area will be unavailable during this time. The south entrance of the parking area at Bldg. 642 will also be temporarily closed during the installation work.

There will be no power outage during the installation work. The schedule for the installation may change depending on weather conditions.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month Events

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and U.S. Army Garrison Japan has planned several activities under this year’s theme of “United Against Domestic Abuse.”

The Family Advocacy Program has a month full of exciting activities focusing on building and maintaining healthy relationships, addressing the red flags of unhealthy relationships, and ensuring the community knows their resources to address domestic violence.

Every Wednesday, the FAP team will be conducting outreach at various Camp Zama and Sagamihara Family Housing Area business. Look for us while we’re out and about.
