FORT KNOX, Ky. — The U.S. Army Recruiting Command and Fort Knox Commanding General and the Fort Knox Retiree Council will host this year’s Retiree Appreciation Day at Fort Knox Oct. 20.

The one-day event, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Sadowski Center -- located on Wilson Road -- will feature several information booths and briefings by community leaders to demonstrate Fort Knox’s ongoing commitment to and appreciation for retired Soldiers, and to foster continued support for the U.S. Army’s current Soldiers and their Families.

The event will kick off at 10 with opening remarks by the chair of the Fort Knox Retiree Council. A series of short informative briefings will be presented following the opening remarks.

Some of the services available on the day include assistance with medical screenings, vaccinations, identification cards and powers of attorney spread throughout the facility. The day will also afford an opportunity for retirees to stop by the main Exchange, commissary and other installation businesses while in the area.
