REDSTONE ARSENAL, Alabama (July 12, 2023) – Members of the 411th Contracting Support Brigade held a change of command ceremony June 30 at Camp Humpreys, Republic of Korea.

Col. Tony Rogers assumed command from Col. Gwen Devera-Waden in a ceremony officiated by Brig. Gen. Christine Beeler, the commanding general of Army Contracting Command, who praised the accomplishments of the departing leader while setting expectations for the new commander.

“During the two years of her command, Colonel Devera-Waden helped reshape the brigade to match the Department of Defense’s refocus on the Indo-Pacific Command threats, while successfully navigating a significant amount of internal and external resource challenges stemming from the budget crisis,” Beeler said. "She ensured the 411th CSB remained a strategic enabler for U.S. Forces Korea and United Nations Command through its ability to form and manage service, supply and construction contracts in support of installations, maneuver units and enduring strategic defense systems."

Rogers comes to the 411th CSB after serving as the acting director of the procurement policy office of the deputy assistant secretary of the Army for Procurement for the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology.

“Col. Tony Rogers is a perfect fit for the 411th,” Beeler said. “His past assignments in administration, contracting, and program management have prepared him well to successfully navigate all the challenges of this command’s complex mission. He’s been involved in Operations Enduring Freedom, Freedom Sentinel, Iraqi Freedom and Allies Refuge. That’s a very impressive list of assignments; all of which most certainly helped him to be recognized as a top-notch performer in our contracting community. Tony, continue to maintain focus on the mission, support the warfighter with excellence, and train, prepare, and care for your Soldiers and civilians.”

The men and women of the 413th CSB plan and execute theater support contracting to enable and sustain unified land operations and airpower readiness in the Korean peninsula. In addition, brigade members provide daily contracting support to U.S. Force Korea with a staff of U.S. and Korean national workforce provide acquisition excellence to mission partners throughout the Korean theater.
