FORT KNOX, Ky. — Barr Memorial Library presents New York Times bestselling author Don Bentley in person Wednesday, May 3, at 5:30 p.m.

Bentley will discuss and sign Forgotten War, the fourth installment of his Matt Drake thriller series.

In Forgotten War, Defense Intelligence Agency operative Matt Drake is drawn into a dangerous situation involving a secret from his time in Afghanistan. When his partner is accused of a war crime 10 years after leaving the country, Drake is determined to prove his friend innocent, although he soon learns that his closest friend has secrets he won’t share.

Bentley is the New York Times bestselling author of Tom Clancy Zero Hour and Tom Clancy Target Acquired. His Matt Drake series (Without Sanction, The Outside Man and Hostile Intent) have drawn praise from noted thriller writers such as Nelson DeMille and Lee Child. He was named as the new author for the Mitch Rapp series begun by the late Vince Flynn in 2023.

Forgotten War is part military thriller, part spy novel and draws upon the author’s experience as a former FBI special agent, SWAT team member and U.S. Army Apache helicopter pilot. Bentley spent a decade as an Apache helicopter pilot and was stationed in South Korea, Germany, and Texas. While deployed to Afghanistan as a troop commander in support of Operation Enduring Freedom VI, he was awarded the Bronze Star and the Air Medal with “V” device for valor.
