For National Medal of Honor Day, we honor the heroic actions of Korean War veteran Ernest Kouma, who single-handedly halted the advance of 500 enemy forces, saving the lives of countless American troops in 1950.

Ernest R. Kouma grew up in the small, quiet farming community of Dwight, Nebraska, but found himself in the spotlight after heroic actions he took during the Korean War to stop the enemy and save his men.
