SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, Hawaii -- U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii recognized more than 100 employees for excellence and years in service at its Employee Recognition Program at the 604 Banquet Center, Nov. 18.
Twenty-one employees received length of service awards; 67 employees received certificates of appreciation; three employees earned the Civilian Service Achievement Medal; and 15 employees received a commander's coin.
"It's easy to do easy things. What you do isn't easy," said Col. Steve McGunegle, garrison commander. "Sometimes you feel like, hey, we don't have enough time and we don't have enough resources, but you continue to find a way to get it done."
"You (all) do exceptional things, you do hard things, you do things you shouldn't be able to do," McGunegle continued. "Be proud of being exceptional and be proud of being able to do stuff other teams couldn't do."
