FORT KNOX, Ky. – With members of the Fort Knox Fire Department and Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. William Fogle at his side, Col. Lance O’Bryan officially declared Oct. 9-15 Fire Prevention Week.

Each year, the Garrison commander signs a proclamation of the installation’s commitment to practice fire safety in all endeavors. O’Bryan said the 2022 theme, “Fire won’t wait. Plan your escape,” serves to remind the community of the importance of having a home fire escape plan.

“Proper fire safety protects our most precious resources: our people,” said O’Bryan.
