As Chief of Resource Management (S-8), Chi K. Etheridge manages and executes a myriad of tasks related to financial systems and financial transactions involving the review, tracking, and management of funds for Army Field Support Battalion-Northeast Asia. In a year plagued by financial constraints and an extremely difficult funding climate, Ms. Etheridge's abilities to overcome these obstacles allowed for maximum mission accomplishment, adding to the success of the commander's mission and goals.

Tell us about your job and what you do:

I am a Supervisory Budget Analyst for Resource Management (S-8), AFSBn-NEA, Camp Carroll. I manage all aspects of the RM functions to include budget formulation, executions & presentations for the General Fund Enterprise System, and the Global Combat Support System-Army.

How long have you been in this position?

One Year and eight months

What other duties are you responsible for?

I am the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention Program Victim Advocate for AFSBn-NEA.

What is it like having to deal with multi-million-dollar transactions?

First check three rules:

1. Purpose Rule - Only buy what the appropriation allows

2. Time Rule - Only buy within the time limits outlined in the appropriation

3. Amount Rule - Only spend the amounts specified in the appropriation for specific items.

What are some of your accomplishments while at AFSBn-NEA?

AFSBn-NEA's annual budget forecast/prediction was completed before the suspense imposed by the 403rd Army Field Support Brigade and Army Sustainment Command, and AFSBn-NEA never experienced any significant shortfalls in funding.

What is the best thing about working at AFSBn-NEA?

The AFSBn-NEA S8 Team is the BEST EVER!

What do you like to do in your free time?

Travel in Korea.

Do you have a special skill or talent you would like to share (what is something people might not know about you)?

Not a special skill or talent, but I have traveled to lots of countries in Europe, so if anybody needs advice/travel tips please contact me especially England, Germany, Spain and Italy!
