4th SFAB Force Package returns from first European rotation

FORT CARSON, CO--The 1st and 6th Bn.’s, of the 4th Security Force Assistance Brigade uncased their colors after their six month deployment to Europe, here, on Pershing Field, April 14, 2022. The force package worked in Europe since October of 2021 to advise, support, liaise, and assist nations which included Georgia, Latvia, North Macedonia, Poland, and Romania.

Security Advisor Teams from 4th SFAB have maintained a persistent presence in Europe from the Baltics to the Black Sea since October of 2021.

SFAB Advisors played a key role during multiple exercises in Europe during their rotation to include Allied Spirit 22, Crystal Arrow, and Silver Arrow.

“Today’s ceremony represents a new chapter in the history of 4th SFAB; the first successful persistent force package employment within Europe,” said Lt. Col. Jeremiah Hull, commander of 6th Bn., 4th SFAB.  “The foundation this force package set will enable the success of all future Force Packages.”

Security Advisor Teams increase interoperability and achieve strategic goals by providing experienced leaders from the maneuver, combat engineer, signal support, intelligence, medical, and logistics career fields.

"Every Battalion within the Brigade was responsible for the success of this deployment,” said Lt. Col. Steven Robins, commander of 1st Bn., 4th SFAB. “The efforts of each Advisor inside of Force Package 22-1-E has and will have a lasting effect on this Brigade and our partners and Allies.”

4th SFAB is among other units assigned to V Corps, America's Forward Deployed Corps in Europe that works alongside NATO Allies and regional security partners to provide combat ready forces, execute joint and multinational training exercises, and retains command and control for all rotational and assigned units in the European Theater.
