FORT KNOX, Ky. – Members of the 2022 Fort Knox Tax Center team were recognized for their efforts at a ceremony April 20 to close out the year’s tax season.
The team was responsible for generating $2,575,527 in returns for the Fort Knox community, surpassing the previous year’s total. Garrison Commander Col. Lance O’Bryan and Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. William Fogle addressed the team and handed out awards.
Fort Knox Garrison Commander Col. Lance O’Bryan reads the dollar totals that the tax center team achieved in returns over the 2022 season, saving the community 35% more in filing fees than the previous year.

“Thank you for what you’ve done for the Soldiers, their dependents and retirees,” said O’Bryan. “Because of what you did, you saved them $338,709 in tax preparation fees, a 35% increase over last year.”

The team was comprised of Soldiers from units across Fort Knox. Installation Senior Enlisted Adviser Command Sgt. Maj. Jerimiah Gan also came to the ceremony to thank the team.
“On behalf of the [commanding general] and myself: job well done,” said Gan. “There are six major commands here on the installation, and seeing one team come together and be able to knock it out of the park is phenomenal.”

The tax center officer in charge, Capt. Summer Prather, said her team impacted the community with the service they provided.
“I could not imagine having a better team,” said Prather. “They worked really hard, and all had a positive attitude. I could not have had a better group of Soldiers as my tax team.”
The tax center team, led by Commanding Officer Cpt. Summer Prather, generated more than $2.5 million in returns for the Fort Knox community during the 2022 season.

The tax center processed about 400 more returns than last year, for a total of 2,624.
