KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany – Today the Nation celebrates Veterans Day, recognizing all who have served in uniform with honor and distinction. From the very start of November, the 405th Army Field Support Brigade – in honor of Veterans Day – shined a spotlight on a fraction of the brigade’s Veteran workforce each day as a way to celebrate their service and recognize their continued contributions to our Nation and the Army as Department of the Army civilian service employees assigned to the 405th AFSB.
We highlighted former infantry Soldiers, a Marine, an Air Force transportation professional and more. We showed you what a retired Army helicopter pilot now does at an Army Prepositioned Stock-2 worksite, what a retired food service chief warrant officer 2 now does at a Logistics Readiness Center, what a retired Army career recruiter now does as a brigade command group action officer, and more.
We spotlighted former sergeants major, first sergeants, chief warrant officers, a Military Police sergeant, a Bradley master gunner, a senior ordnance logistician chief warrant officer 5, and many others.
These amazing Veterans now serve within the 405th AFSB as supply and services division, maintenance division, and transportation division chiefs, as budget and financial management analysts, as transportation claims advisors, as ammunition assurance specialists, and as directors.
They work at Logistics Readiness Centers, Army Prepositioned Stock-2 worksites, Army Field Support Battalions, Base Support Operations, and with the 405th AFSB’s Logistics Assistance Program and Logistics Civil Augmentation Program as well as within the 405th AFSB’s headquarters.
They are stationed in Stuttgart, Kaiserslautern, Vilseck, Baumholder and Hohenfels, Germany. They live and work in Vicenza, Italy, and Brunssum, Netherlands. And some are stationed at Chievres Air Base, Belgium, just to name a few.
In the Army – and within the 405th AFSB – people are our greatest asset. Our Army Veterans are ‘Army Strong’ and taking care of them and our entire workforce – ensuring they are ready to support the fight and to help win our Nation’s wars – is our number one priority.
Soldiers live by the Army values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage, and they do not leave behind these values when they become Veterans.
Across the United States, our Soldiers for Life and Veterans from other services are teachers, doctors, engineers, social workers, community leaders, first responders and elected officials. They continue to serve our communities by making positive contributions, building stronger futures and inspiring future generations. Our Veterans within the 405th AFSB stationed overseas supporting U.S. Army Europe and Africa are no different. They continue to serve, to inspire and to ‘Support the Warrior!’
Happy Veterans Day! Thank you for your service!
