Team CECOM,
I had a great visit this week with our teammates at AMLC and Fort Belvoir, thank you for hosting me. These outstanding organizations are doing very important work supporting the enterprise - and they are delivering! In fact, our entire CECOM team is supporting the Afghan mission by ensuring availability of C5ISR-M equipment and supplies, and providing ongoing maintenance of equipment as well as medical evaluation and treatment of evacuees. I am proud to be part of this organization, and extremely proud of the work you are doing.
The Secretary of Defense released a memo mandating vaccination for service members. We are awaiting implementation guidance from the Department of the Army.
Yesterday, Harford County Health Department announced that, based on CDC guidance, the County has entered the "high" level of community transmission of COVID-19. For those located at APG, I implore you to remain vigilant. As local schools begin opening in the next few weeks, it's especially important we all continue to practice our pandemic hygiene - wearing masks inside and in congested areas, frequently washing hands, maintaining physical distance, and if you haven't already - getting vaccinated.
The mandatory training year is coming to a close on 30 September, and as such, it is important for all military and civilian employees to ensure they have completed all their annual training. All mandatory training courses that are required for each position can be located on the Mandatory Training Tab in the Total Employee Development (TED) profile. Any questions about mandatory training or TED can be directed to the designated training coordinator within each organization.
Thank you for your dedication to our mission, Army, and our great Nation.
Sincerely,
MG Edmonson
