Command Sgt. Maj. Terrence T. Scarborough is a native of New Haven, Connecticut. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in October 1992 and attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, followed by Advanced Individual Training at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, where he was awarded the Military Occupational Specialty of 52C, Utilities Repairmen. In 1995 he reclassified to become an 88M, Motor Transport Operator.

He has deployed in support of Desert Falcon, KFOR, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation New Dawn, and Operation Inherent Resolve.
Command Sgt. Maj. Scarborough has completed all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development System and his civilian education includes a Master of Arts degree in Adult Education and Training.

CSM Scarborough is married to Keisha, and together they have three children.
