Beando said DHR contributes to the overall mission here by helping to improve quality of life and readiness through various programs and resources.

Administrative Services offers education services, including counseling and testing, basic skills courses, career skills programs and the Transition Assistance Program, which assists transitioning service members with job searches and related services.

The Military Personnel Division is responsible for operation of the Casualty Assistance Center, the ID card facility, retirement and in-and out-processing services, and the Transition Center, which provides support to initial entry Soldiers in Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training.

According to Beando, offering such a broad array of services to the Fort Leonard Wood community is all about providing outstanding customer-focused service.

“We put the customers first, both internal and external,” he said. “Taking care of service members is our business.”
