Redstone customers stocked up on their holiday spirits last week while at the same time helping to support this post.

The Post Exchange's quarterly Tent Sale at the Shoppette was held June 30 through July 3. Customers purchased their favorite Class Six beverages under a large white tent at what was called the Super Summer Sale.

"These tent sales really help produce more of a dividend for the installation," PX general manager Carl Carpenter said. "Last year we gave Redstone $1,711,431 to MWR (Morale Welfare and Recreation). And these tent sales really help increase the dividend to MWR since the purchases at AAFES support the MWR facilities and quality of life programs on Redstone."

Retired Sgt. 1st Class Homer Howard, 77, of Huntsville, was among the customers Thursday at the busy parking lot. People arrived and departed the tent with their alcohol and beer purchases. A worker wheeled cases of beer from a Budweiser truck.

"If they got something in there you want, it's worth it," Howard said of the tent sale. "I'm not one of these guys that have to have the same brand all the time."
