The Integrated Personnel and Pay System – Army is doing away with paper forms. Goodbye DA Form 4187 and DA Form 31. Instead of filling out a paper form, walking it to their S1 shop and waiting for the request to be sent to their commander, Soldiers will submit a Personnel Action Request (PAR) and Absence/Leave requests in IPPS-A. They can even do it from their phones using a mobile app. IPPS-A delivers transparency. Gone are the days of Soldier’s repeatedly going to their S1’s office asking for updates regarding their HR needs. Soldiers will be able to log-in to their IPPS-A profile anywhere in the world and see where their PAR is in the approval process. This new process will save time for commanders.
