Fort Knox virtual Army Ten Miler run scheduled to occur Oct. 16-18

FORT KNOX, Ky. — Fort Knox Directorate of Family and Moral, Welfare and Recreation officials have announced a designated run route for the 36th Annual Army Ten-Miler, which will occur virtually and on an individual basis at various installations Oct. 11-18.Though participants are free to run the 10 miles at a location of their choosing, the installation has provided the route for runners to participate Oct. 16-18. The route starts at Kilianski Sports Complex and runs up Wilson Road, turns onto Baker Road to Brandenburg Station Road, down Brandenburg Road to Houston Bowling Center and then returns back to Kilianski.Route directional signs will be posted around the installation. Registration is currently closed. Those participating are expected to download the ATM Runner Experience App at https://active.app.link/ArmyTenMiler.Runners will have eight days to complete the race and must do so in one session for the time to be counted. When starting the race, click START in the app. When completing the 10 miles, click END. The results will automatically be sent to the ATM Timing and Scoring company.There is no designated uniform for the event. The general public may participate. A virtual expo will also be featured in the app for runners to be able to purchase Ten-Miler and other brand name running gear. The expo opens Oct. 11.
