Army invites public comments on INRMP and EA for SOCSOUTH

HOMESTEAD, Fla. (Oct. 5, 2020) – The Draft Integrated Natural Resource Management Plan Update 2021-2025 for U.S. Special Operations Command South Headquarters, as well as the associated Draft Environmental Assessment for implementation of the updated plan and Draft Finding of No Significant Impact are available for review and comment.

All interested members of the public, federally recognized Indian Tribes, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiian groups, federal, state, and local agencies are invited to review and provide feedback.

A copy of the Draft INRMP, EA and FNSI is available at https://aec.army.mil/index.php/?cID=352.

The U.S. Army Environmental Command will accept comments until Nov. 5, 2020. Please submit written comments or additional information to usarmy.jbsa.imcom-aec.mbx.nepa@mail.mil.

The Proposed Action is to implement the 2021-2025 INRMP Update for SOCSOUTH that fully meets the requirements of the Sikes Act (16 U.S.C. 670a-670b).

Per the Sikes Act, the goal of the INRMP is to implement an ecosystem-based conservation program that provides for conservation and rehabilitation of natural resources in a manner consistent with the military mission.

Alternatives considered include implementing the proposed action or not implementing the proposed action.
