ANNISTON ARMY DEPOT, Ala. -- Three members of the Defense Non-Tactical Generator and Rail Center, better known as DGRC, were recently honored by the 834th Transportation Battalion at the Military Ocean Terminal in Concord, California.

Rusty Owens, Dennis Curry and Geneva Grant spent two weeks at MOTC replacing the engine power pack on one locomotive, repairing the air system on another and inspecting and clearing a third to ensure it was fully mission capable.

These repairs and inspections ensured all five of MOTC’s locomotives were functional.

Lt. Col. Luke Clover, commander of the 834th Transportation Battalion presented unit coins to the team and expressed his appreciation for their work.

Clover mentioned the long hours and often hot conditions which the DGRC team endured to ensure all five locomotives were fully mission capable.

“We appreciate your assistance,” said Clover. “Being able to get those locomotives up and running was huge for us and for the Surface Deployment and Distribution Command as a whole.”

This was DGRC’s sixth field mission of 2020, to-date.
