DALLAS -- Military pet owners rejoice. The Army & Air Force Exchange Service is welcoming Petco to the exchange family.

The pet specialty retailer is slated to open its first store on a military installation at Joint Base Lewis-McChord when the expanded Lewis Main Exchange expansion is completed in 2020, according to AAFES.

"We are excited to welcome Petco to our new mall at JBLM," said Mike Einer, JBLM Exchange general manager. "This will be their flagship store and first for the Exchange, and we are happy that JBLM is the location."

The JBLM Petco will offer grooming services and a variety of pet supplies, food and toys. The company's 10% military discount will apply to all purchases, including services, at the Lewis Main Exchange.

Offering name brands in-store and online is a priority for the JBLM Exchange. Petco is the latest in a series of announcements concerning national-brand introductions at Army and Air Force locations around the world.

Petco's arrival is just one of the changes coming to the Lewis Main Exchange after the expansion.

"Our new mall expansion will include other exciting new businesses that improve our customer experience for this community," Einer said. "The ongoing support of our command and local relations have made this possible."
