New York Times bestselling author Linwood Barclay will visit Fort Knox's Barr Memorial Library Sept. 20 at 3 p.m. as part of the Authors at Your Library program.

While there, Barclay will discuss and sign Elevator Pitch, his newest thriller.

The story begins on a Monday, when four people board an elevator in a Manhattan office tower. Each pushes a button for their floor, but the elevator proceeds to the top of the shaft. Once there, it pauses -- then plummets. It appears to be a horrific, random accident. But it happens again on Tuesday. And Wednesday. New York City is plunged into chaos. Two seasoned New York detectives and a straight-shooting journalist must race against time to find the answers before the city's newest, and tallest, residential tower has its Friday night ribbon cutting.

Linwood Barclay has written almost 20 novels and has been published in multiple languages. His first stand-alone novel, No Time for Goodbye, was published in 2007 to critical acclaim and international success. Many of his novels have been optioned for television and film. In addition to his adult thrillers, Barclay has written a memoir of his teenage years and two books for children.

Barclay lives in Toronto, Canada with his wife. They have two grown children.

The event is free and open to the public.
