JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. - Col. Peter J. Crandall relinquished command of the 404th Army Support Brigade to Col. Michael E. Rivera at the Regional Logistics Readiness Center, here June 7.

The ceremony was overseen by Maj. Gen. Duane A. Gamble, commanding general, U.S. Army Sustainment Command.

Crandall took command of the 404th AFSB on July 19, 2017. His next assignment is as the deputy to the commander, with the 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command at Camp Henry in Daegu, South Korea.

Rivera comes to the 404th AFSB from the University of Washington in Seattle where he served as a U.S. Army War College fellow at the Center of Strategic International Studies.

The 404th AFSB is a subordinate unit of ASC headquartered at Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois. ASC, the control hub for global Army logistics, falls under the U.S. Army Materiel Command headquartered at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. AMC, a 4-star command, develops and delivers materiel readiness solutions to ensure globally dominant land force capabilities.
