FORT SHAFTER, Hawaii -- An Indian Army delegation visited the 8th Theater Sustainment Command for a logistics subject matter exchange at the command's headquarters based on Fort Shafter, Hawaii, May 17.

Col. Stephen M. Howell, 8th TSC Support Operations Officer welcomed the Indian Army Brigadier of Operational Logistics Paramvir Singh Sehrawat, Col. Alok Dash and Col. Shiv Yadav.

This is the first time 8th TSC hosted leaders from the Indian Army for a logistics subject matter expert exchange and Howell emphasized that this exchange is an opportunity for both armies to enhance knowledge and gain a better understanding of the dynamics of the Pacific theater.

During the visit, 8th TSC logisticians from the command's Support Operations Section discussed synchronized theater distribution and its relation to theater readiness and provided commodities briefings on Class III and munitions.

The delegation toured sustainment sites on Wheeler Army Airfield and visited the Logistics Support Vessel, CW3 Harold Clinger, based on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam for an overview of Army watercraft missions in the Pacific.

8th TSC serves as senior logistics command for the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command's area of responsibility, ensuring sustainment conditions are set to enable a safe and secure Pacific region.

Enhancing foreign military partnerships and relationships, particularly in the subject of sustainment and logistics is critical for the 8th TSC to achieve its mission. The Indian Army logistics subject matter exchange provided an opportunity to tap into the knowledge and experience that resides in both armies and seek future opportunities for cooperation and collaboration.
