Fort Knox Soldiers Aaron "Hank" Pollock, from 100th Training Division, and Bill "Pumba" Angelo, from 83rd Army Reserve Readiness Training Center, took home gold in the 3.5 ability group at the 5th Annual Ashland Pickleball Club Indoor Tournament held in Ashland, Kentucky, March 30-31.

Pollock said he learned about the game of pickleball back in 2013 while stationed in the Detroit, Michigan area. After moving to Fort Knox in 2018, he noticed that the sport had little exposure on post.

Since then, Pollock has been able to garner some interest in the sport at Fort Knox; the group has more than 12 people involved.

"It's a great way to work on agility, hand-eye coordination and cardio," said Pollock.

For more information about pickleball or to get involved, stop by Natcher Physical Fitness Center on Monday evenings 6-8 p.m., Fridays 3:30-6 p.m., or Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
