Local author Robert Brooks will visit Fort Knox's Barr Memorial Library on Thursday, April 11, at noon as part of the Authors at Your Library program.
Brooks will discuss and sign copies of his newest novel, "From the Frozen Chosin to Churchill" -- a biography of Command Sgt. Maj. Ray Hooker Cottrell. The story traces the life of Cottrell, who at 17 faced the perils of war in Korea. It follows his life post-service as a successful businessman, and chronicles his love of horses and racing at Churchill Downs.
Brooks lives in Louisville, Kentucky, with his family. This is his first book.
This event is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase. For more information, call the library at (502) 624-1232 or visit the website www.barrlibrary.org.
