JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. -- More than 100 members from the 627th Air Base Group at Joint Base Lewis-McChord volunteered at eight different locations across the Thurston County region for the annual Thurston County Day of Service Oct. 25.

This is the sixth year that service members have partnered with Thurston County to tackle beautification and restoration projects throughout the county. The Airmen from McChord Field said they value this experience because it allows them to support the community that they live in.

Thurston County organizations look forward to this event every year as it allows them to interact with service members and get much needed support for their projects.
