JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. -- Medal of Honor recipient retired U.S. Army Master Sgt. Leroy A. Petry will be a guest speaker at a "Focus on Behavioral Health" June 27 at Madigan Army Medical Center and at French Theater at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The event is open to all units, patients and the JBLM community.

Petry is an advocate of behavioral health and substance dependency care and treatment for our military, their families, and the trans-generational veteran population. Petry received the Medal of Honor from President Barack Obama on July 12, 2011, in a ceremony at the White House. He is the second living recipient of the medal.

The Medal of Honor is the United States of America's highest and most prestigious personal military decoration that may be awarded to recognize U.S. military service members who distinguished themselves by acts of valor.

The event will be at noon in Madigan's Letterman Auditorium and again at 2 p.m. at French Theater at JBLM.
