Alpha Battery poised for Saber Strike 18

POLAND - Members of Alpha Battery, are poised in Poland for Saber Strike 18, as they are setting up their area of operations (AO). Alpha Battery is one of several batteries subordinate to the 5-7 ADA BN, 678th ADA BDE, (South Carolina National Guard), 10th AAMDC (head quartered in the Rhine Ordnance Barracks, Germany), working on providing air defense assets during the Saber Strike 18.

"This is a great opportunity for the soldiers of Alpha Battery to use the tools and training they work so hard on in preparation for this exercise," said Capt. Annie Hershey, commander of Alpha Battery, 5-7 ADA BN. "These troops have been working diligently and we are ready for the exercise to start."

Over the past week, Alpha Battery has been operationalizing their area of operations, preparing for the arrival of training assets. Arriving on site, Alpha has a sense of excitement as they are practicing all they have been learning.

Along with supporting the air defense presence during Saber Strike 18, Alpha Battery, is helping build the alliance with our European partners.

Emphasizing the hard work and readiness of Alpha Battery is 1st. Sgt. Justin Mohen, providing and seeing confidence in his soldiers and their abilities.

Alpha Battery, 5-7 ADA BN is head quartered out of Baumholder, Germany.
