FORT LEE, Va. - The U.S. Army Transportation Corps inducted five individuals and two transportation units into their Hall of Fame during a ceremony May 1 at the Lee Club on Fort Lee, Virginia.

"These individuals and units represent the absolute best of the best in the Transportation Corps," said Brig. Gen. Jeffrey W. Drushal, chief of transportation and commandant, U.S. Army Transportation School. "Their loyalty, dedication and accomplishments have left an indelible makr on the present and future of the corps.

"Because of your (Hall of Fame inductees) contributions, we will meet the challenged and provide better support to maneuver commanders," the general said. "The contributions of our senior leaders, both past and present, ensure the Transportation Corps remains relevant and ready at the tactical, operational and strategic levels today and in the future."

The Transportation Corps established the Hall of Fame award in 1996 as the highest form of recognition for transporters who have made significant contributions to the overall history and traditions of the corps.

The 2018 Transportation Corps Hall of Fame inductees were: Maj. Gen. (ret.) Peter S. Lennon; Command Sgt. Maj. (ret.) Thomas A. Mott; Command Sgt. Maj. (ret.) Frank L. Reeves; Command Sgt. Maj. (ret.) Lesly T. McCorkle; Army civilian (ret.) Joe A. Fortner; the 8th Transportation Group; and the 319th Transportation Company.

The ceremony was held as part of the U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command Sustainment Week branch day activities.
