Fort Leonard Wood is scheduled to host its fourth annual Hiring Our Heroes' Transition Summit to connect service members, Guard and Reserve, veterans, and military spouses that includes a free hiring fair and other events for both employers and job seekers scheduled April 26 and 27.

The two-day summit, sponsored in conjunction with the Hiring our Heroes organization, is one of the largest hiring and career events conducted annually on the installation.

The events are set to feature federal and state agencies, military leaders, innovators in the business and employer community and local community leaders.

The event is open to all service members, veterans and military spouses, and will feature a Hiring Our Heroes Career Connection Workshop, LinkedIn for Veterans; interactive panel discussions with employers, a Networking Reception and facilitated discussions focused on improving competitive employment. In addition, it will also serve as a networking opportunity for job seekers. The event will culminate with industry workshops and a hiring fair. The hiring fair provides job seekers a direct pipeline to the employers and vacancies.

The transition summit is a part of the Soldier for Life -- Transition Assistance Program, which provides information and training to ensure service members are prepared to meet civilian career goals upon transitioning from active duty. SFL-TAP focus is to proactively prepare service members and as well with spouses to learn about services available to them as they transition.

Service members who will transition in the next 24 months are required to attend this event. The transition summit connects employers of every size and industry with talented service members, veterans and military spouses.

SFL-TAP mission is to ensure that mission planning starts now, to make sure transitioning service members, and spouses are successful in making meaningful connections to help prepare for the civilian workforce or schooling.

The summit is an opportunity for service members and their spouses, to network at one venue.

The transition summit will take place at Nutter Field House.
