ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL, Ill. -- Several Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention professionals from organizations across the Rock Island Arsenal installation gathered at Rock Island Arsenal Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center Feb. 15 for a monthly meeting.
RIA SHARP professionals from the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, Army Contracting Command-Rock Island, U.S. Joint Munitions Command, First Army, U.S. Army Garrison-RIA and RIA-JMTC conduct monthly meetings to collaborate on current SHARP initiatives and efforts. The group rotates its meeting location around the RIA installation each month.
"The RIA SHARP team will focus on a new RIA command each month," said Meghan McAndrew, ASC/RIA SHARP program manager. "This will assist to gain valuable command and workforce information to provide our community with the highest level of advocacy services, working together as a team and understanding the uniqueness of each command on RIA."
A tour of the RIA-JMTC facilities was provided in conjunction with the February meeting.
"The RIA SHARP professionals toured JMTC facilities, met with employees and gained a better understanding of the role and mission JMTC plays at RIA and in the Army," said McAndrew.
The RIA's victim advocacy program was recently rejuvenated, with training, meetings and events planned in the coming months to continue the effort to be a unified team at RIA.
