Prioritize U.S. Army Fort Leonard Wood in your Facebook News Feed

Last month, Facebook announced a "major" change to how the social media giant prioritizes content users will see in their News Feed.

"We've gotten feedback from our community that public content -- posts from businesses, brands and media -- is crowding out the personal moments that lead us to connect more with each other," Facebook Chief Executive Officer and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg said in a Facebook post dated Jan. 11.

As a result, users will see less public content and more from family, friends and groups in their News Feed. The focus will also change from "helping you find relevant content to helping you have more meaningful social interactions," he said.

So, what does this mean for the Fort Leonard Wood Facebook page?

"To continue seeing important news and information from Fort Leonard Wood in your News Feed, users will need to follow six, simple steps," said Dawn Arden, Fort Leonard Wood Command Information chief.

According to Arden, those steps are:

From a desktop computer

-- Login to Facebook and go to your home page

-- Click the three dots next to News Feed located on the left-hand side

-- Select "Edit Preferences"

-- Then select "Prioritize who to see first"

-- Select U.S. Army Fort Leonard Wood

-- Click the blue "Done" button.

From an Android mobile device

-- Login to Facebook and go to your home page

-- Tap the three lines located next to the notification bell icon

-- Select "News Feed Preferences"

-- Then select "Prioritize who to see first"

-- Select U.S. Army Fort Leonard Wood

-- Select the arrow at the top to go back.

From an iPhone

-- Login to Facebook, and go to your home page

-- Tap the three lines located next to the notification bell icon

-- Select "Settings"

-- Then select "News Feed Preference"

-- Select "Prioritize who to see first"

-- Select U.S. Army Fort Leonard Wood and then tap "Done" at the top.
