REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. (Nov. 8, 2017) -- Mike Hutson serves as a human factors engineering specialist in the Aviation Engineering Directorate. He develops and reviews requirements for the aircrew interface with U.S. Army helicopters. Hutson also reviews lighting aircraft compatibility with night vision devices.

Hutson says his work supports Army readiness by ensuring the equipment Soldiers use is safe and compatible with their mission. "Seeing an aviation Soldier happy to receive a piece of equipment that makes their job easier is very gratifying."

Hutson has 33 years on active duty in the Army, 30 of them as an Army aviator. "During that time I accrued over 8,000 incident/accident free flight hours in Army helicopters."
