IMCOM-Europe garrisons hosting Retiree Appreciation Days

WIESBADEN, Germany -- Garrisons throughout IMCOM-Europe are hosting Retiree Appreciation Days in October.

Events are scheduled to be held at the following locations:

U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach: 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 25, at the Katterbach Fitness Center. Doors open at 9 a.m. for registration and close at 1 p.m.

Medical services will include: flu shots and other vaccinations; medical screening; diet counseling; eye exams; blood-pressure screening; blood-sugar testing; and pharmacy information.

Participating representatives from on-post services: Chaplain's Office; customs; Red Cross; Army Community Services; ID-card office; passport office; Installation Access Control System; legal office; local associations; AAFES; and Service Credit Union.

Outside agencies participating: the Consulate General's Federal Benefit Unit; Veterans Administration; and Defense Finance and Accounting Services for retired-pay records audit and assistance.

USAG Bavaria: 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 24, in Building 209, Tower View Conference Center. Doors open at 8 a.m. for registration and close at 1 p.m.

Medical services will include: flu shots and other vaccinations; medical screening; diet counseling; eye exams; blood-pressure screening; blood-sugar testing; and pharmacy services.

Dental services will provide retirees with oral hygiene information and screening appointments.

Participating representatives from on-post services: Chaplain's Office; customs; Red Cross; ACS; ID-card office; passport office; Installation Access Control System; legal office; local associations; AAFES; Service Credit Union; and Community Bank.

Outside agencies participating: FBU; DFAS; Social Security Administration; and Veterans Administration.

USAG Benelux: 9 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Oct. 21, at SHAPE's medical clinic. Doors open at 8 a.m. for registration and close at 11 a.m.

Garrison support agencies will be represented.

Representatives from DFAS will audit retired-pay records and provide other assistance.

USAG Italy: 9 a.m-1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Army Health Center (Building 2310) on Camp Ederle.

Expected medical and dental services include: audiology; blood-pressure screening; diabetes information; family practice; immunizations; infection control; nutrition care; occupational therapy; orthopedics; optometry; pharmacy; TRICARE; and wellness advice.

Representative from FBU and DFAS will be available.

USAG Rheinland-Pfalz and Ramstein Air Base: A joint RAD will be held from 8 a.m.--2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 18, at the Ramstein Officers Club. Doors open at 8 a.m. for registration and close at 1 p.m.

Community services will be available. DFAS and other community support agencies will be represented.

USAG Stuttgart: 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Swabian Special Events Center on Patch Barracks. Doors open at 8 a.m. and close 1 p.m.

Medical services will include: flu shots and other vaccinations; diet counseling; eye exams, medical screening; blood-pressure screening; blood-sugar testing; and pharmacy information. Ophthalmology services may also be offered, depending on personnel availability. Dental services will provide retirees with oral hygiene information and exams.

Participating representatives from on-post services: Chaplain's Office; customs; Red Cross; ACS; ID-card office; passport office; Installation Access Control System; National Archives and Records Administration; legal office; local associations; USO; AAFES; and Service Credit Union.

Representatives from DFAS, the FBU, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the United Services Automobile Association will also attend.

USAG Wiesbaden: The U.S. Army in Europe Retiree Appreciation Day, hosted by USAG Wiesbaden, will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28, in the USAREUR Mission Command Center. Doors open for registration at 8 a.m. and close at noon.

Representatives from various garrison agencies (for example, the ID-card office; Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System; Installation Access Control System; legal assistance; medical/dental services) will be available to answer questions and provide services.

Additionally, a representative from the FBU will assist with SSA and VA questions.

Schinnen Community: 10 a.m.-2 p.m, Friday, Oct. 20, in Building 39, Community Events Center. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for registration and close at 1 p.m. Garrison support agencies will be represented. Representatives from DFAS will also attend to audit retired-pay records and provide other assistance.
