CYS teaching staff participates in Teaching Strategies
Child and Youth Services teaching staff participated in a week long curriculum course August 14 -- 18, 2017 presented by Teaching Strategies held at the Camp Zama Community Club. Participants included staff from Camp Zama, Naval Air Facility Atsugi and U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan, Korea.
The course was designed to help CYS staff implement the Creative Curriculum effectively in their classrooms.
Staff members learned to be purposeful as they create an environment to interact with children in interest areas and outdoors; in addition to planning the physical spaces, staff members learned strategies for interacting with children in ways that support their developmental learning related to the curricular objectives while encouraging children's explorations and creativity.
